Primer frente frio afecto el sector insular
Días antes de culminar la temporada de huracanes azoto el primer frente frio al sector Insular, a la llegada del primer fenómeno de esta naturaleza el Comité Permanente de Contingencia (COPECO) emitió alerta verde para cinco Departamentos incluyendo Islas de la Bahía por 72 horas, el paso de este fenómeno dejo como resultado varias viviendas inundadas en diferentes sectores del municipio de Roatán, fuertes vientos los cuales derribaron varios árboles, en algunos sectores como West End un inmenso árbol cayó en medio de la calle, afectando el sistema de televisión por cable, la red de teléfonos fijos, en la zona norte de la Isla las ráfagas de viento alejaron a los turistas de las playas por el fuerte oleaje, la calles se veían desalojadas, el sistema eléctrico fallo de manera considerable en el primer día del paso del fenómeno. Representantes del comité permanente de contingencias entregaron donaciones a personas afectadas por la lluvias, debido que sufrieron por el mal drenaje que hay en el municipio. Quienes también se vieron afectados fueron los viajeros y habitantes que deseaban llegar a tierra firme vía marítima o aérea ya que las condiciones no eran favorables para la navegación y vuelos.

FIRST COLD FRONT AFFECTS THE INSULAR AREA
Days before the end of the hurricane season a cold front hit the Insular área. At the arrival of this first storm the Permanent Committee of Risks (COPECO) issued a green alert of 72 hours for 5 departments including the Bay Islands. During its passage this storm left many homes flooded in different áreas of the Municipality of Roatan. Strong winds knocked down many trees and in some áreas like West End a huge tree fell in the middle of the street affecting the cable televisión system, and the telephone network. In the north zone of the Island strong winds kept the tourists off the beach due to the high waves. The streets were empty. The electric system failed considerably during the first day of the storm. Representatives of the Permanent Committee of Risks gave donations to the persons affected by the rain due to the bad drainage in the Municipality. Travelers and people who wanted to go to the mainland by sea or air were also affected because the conditions were not favorable to travel by boat or plane.
